An update

I haven't written on here for awhile...so I thought I'd put in another update.

2009 hasn't started out like the way I had hoped it would. I've been sick twice since the 1st of the year, which I think is about 2 more times than I've been sick in the last 5 years combined. The thing is, it's not that I had a cold...it's the knock down drag out in bed for 3 days kinda thing. I HATE being sick.

We just had another round of layoffs at the station. I've managed to survive 2 rounds in the 2.5 years I've been here. This one was especially hard because it came without ANY warning, and we lost 10 people. My boss was let go, as well as a fellow producer. We also lost a reporter and a photographer...VERY hard to deal with considering we're already a skeleton staff as it is. I never want to see anyone lose their job, and I can't imagine what they are dealing with now. I know that I would want to crawl up in a ball and cry for a really long time. It kinda makes you sit back and really look at your life. It's so weird in the newsroom right now, there's hardly anyone here! I feel really lucky to have a job, and I intend on working that much harder to try and help keep my job.

I've been working on booking things for our Disney trip in April. Andy is performing in the Spectro Magic parade at the Magic Kingdom with his marching band and I can't wait to see it! Then we are going to spend a few days at my in-laws condo in Tampa. It will be a welcome vacation when we get to go!!!

Scott and I are in the very EARLY process of looking for a house. It's new territory for us, so we want to make sure we are prepared for the entire process. We've started to scout out some neighborhoods...and I'm sure the people there are really excited to see us driving around writing down information, but it helps us get a better idea of what we might be able to afford.

Nothing else really going on...

So sorry about the layoffs. We've had one round so far. It's tough.

Hang in there and I hope you feel better!
