Another house project complete

I've detailed many, if not all of the house projects we've tackled since moving in back in 2009. Got another one today...we actually finished this over the weekend but I'm just now getting around to posting it.

Scott and I hated all of the light fixtures in the house when we moved in, and thankfully our first time home buyer tax credit helped us replace most of them.

The only one left? The master bathroom.

Part of it was money, part of it was that we couldn't really find one that we liked.
The old one was definitely builder grade.

Not totally horrific...but not totally great either. (and yes we always had all the light bulbs in there, I just remembered to take the picture after we started take out the lights) 

What we have now....so much better! (sorry for the bad photo) 

So that concludes our light fixture changing projects....

Now all we need is a ceiling fan in the bedroom! (although without overhead lights already in the room...this one is going to have to wait)

Shower door installation complete

So I'm a little behind on this...but wanted to post a picture of just how great our new shower doors look!! It was certainly worth the wait.

Shower doors fiasco

Okay so maybe fiasco is a bit strong...but nonetheless it's an issue at our house.

Ever since we bought our house in 2009, we decided that the shower doors in the master bathroom needed to be replaced. I'm talking they've never-been-cleaned-in-8-years sorta thing. DISGUSTING! (I'll spare you the pictures)

So after receiving money from my in-law's for Christmas, we made our way to Lowe's to buy new doors. They were supposed to come this past Saturday. Friday night we took out the old ones, and cleaned, and then cleaned again, and then cleaned again to make sure things were ready for the install.

 The shower doesn't look that bad now...

EXCEPT...

We don't have new doors yet!

When the guy pulled the doors out of boxes, he discovered a problem with one of them. SOOO...that means he won't be back until this Saturday to install them. Good thing we have a second shower to use :-)
