Tried a new recipe

We have been trying to find new recipes for dinner since we are trying to cook more instead of going out. Scott is a big fan of citrus, so after seeing this recipe in a Kraft foods magazine I decided to try it.
It's called Citrus Crunch Chicken
The result?
SUPER easy to make, and tasted great! I'm not even that big on citrus but I really liked it.

Ten things that make me happy

Given to me by my friend Angie. (At least I think it was me...she may have another friend named Allison that she likes better! lol) Either way this is a fun thing to do

Ten things that make me happy:

1. My family.
No surprise to anyone who knows me. My family (both immediate and extended) means the world to me. They help to shape who I am, and I can ALWAYS count on them no matter what.

2. My husband.
Yeah he could be lumped into #1, but I wanted to give him his own number :-) About 12 years ago I met him at my summer job, it was love at first sight for me! It took a few more years but I got him!! :-) This May we will celebrate 10 years together. Time flies when you are having fun.

3. Our house
We are so fortunate to have a great house as our 1st home. I always thought we would have to settle for something that we weren't crazy about and then move a few years later...this is definitely NOT the case! I love everything in it, and I can't wait to see what we can do with it in the future.

4. A variety of friends
I've always been lucky to have friends who are older, some who are my age, and some that are younger. I think it makes life better to have a variety of friends that will help you out in specific phases in life. I have lots of people I can go to for advice, and lots of people who can relate to me and what's going on in my life.

5. Men who are committed to their wives/girlfriends/children
There are so many stories of men behaving badly that when you find the guys who really stick it out and commit to the women in their life, it's refreshing!

6. My curly hair
Seems silly...but so many people would kill to have the curls I do! I'm happy with my hair, it's really a wash & go kinda style, and I don't even have to dry it with a hair dryer.

7. My dog!
We rescued Izzie from the shelter and I can't imagine having a better dog :-) Funny how when I was little I used to be afraid of dogs, now I can't imagine my life without them.

8. Being creative
Whether it's a card, wrapping on a gift, a scrapbook page or even a cake, I love seeing the reaction people have when they receive something homemade.

9. Fall
Love everything about the season!

10. Flowers
Despite the fact that I am deathly afraid of bees...I actually love flowers! (preferably cut in a vase)

I'm passing this on to....
Gretchen, because I know she has a lot to be happy for in her life!

Finally

We finally got our tax refund...so that means the worthless dishwasher is gone!! We got our new one from Lowes this morning. I can't wait to use it.

How sad that we are this excited about an appliance! You can tell we're 1st time homebuyers :-)

The albums that took 2.5 years to complete

Scott and I got married in October of 2007. Since that time, I have been working on scrapbooking everything that happened leading up to the wedding, the wedding and then the reception. I had HUNDREDS of pictures to go through, and of course there was shopping for all the supplies. I would hate to estimate how much I spent on all of it :-) There are 2 albums, and I think there's about 140 pages. There are a handful of ones that I could add...but I'm pretty much done with the majority of them.
WHEW! :-) Now I can work on all the things I've skipped since I started these.
